One of the challenges faced by countries in South Asia is mobilizing investments at an affordable cost required for building the generation capacities and regional transmission network in the region because hydro and thermal power projects (which form bulk of the regional power trade in Bangladesh-Bhutan-India-Nepal region) and regional transmission networks are both capital and time intensive in nature.
