Kathmandu: The South Asia Regional Energy Hub and USAID organized a workshop to accelerate the government’s roll-out of EVs by improving the knowledge of Nepali stakeholders on global practices and policies, analyzing costs and benefits, understanding multiple business model options for the deployment of EVs, standards for charging infrastructure, and raising the awareness of leading practices related to the siting of public charging stations. Dhaka: The event, “U.S.- Bangladesh Climate Mitigation and Energy Cooperation – Launch of USAID BADGE program,” elaborated the details of USAID’s $17 million, five-year, flagship BADGE project to key energy stakeholders. U.S Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry highlighted the project during his visit to Dhaka with Bangladesh’s Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina in April 2021. USAID Announced Next-Generation Clean Energy Programs for Energizing a Net-Zero Energy Grid in Asia
USAID is launching seven new next-generation clean energy programs, totaling more than $200 million, to establish foundations for a net-zero energy grid in Asia. The focus of these new bilateral and regional activities includes supporting power sector reforms, deployment of state-of-the-art energy technologies, grid modernization (smart grids, smart meters, digitization, cybersecurity, and resilience), and supporting the transition to electric vehicles and improved battery storage. USAID and DFC Announce $41M Loan Guarantee Program to Finance Rooftop Solar
New Delhi: The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) are jointly sponsoring a $41 million loan portfolio guarantee to help finance investments by Indian Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in renewable energy solutions, including rooftop solar installations.
