Senior Clean Energy Specialist for net-zero carbon energy transition at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), covering South Asia

Anurag brings more than twenty years of experience in the fields of climate, sustainability, and international cooperation Anurag oversee the Agency’s, South Asia Regional Energy Partnership (SAREP), a large regional initiative covering clean energy deployment, regional energy cooperation, modernization of utilities and private sector investments, and manage activities under the technical pillars of the U.S.-India Climate and Clean Energy Agenda 2030 Partnership. His current work areas include market-based approaches to clean energy deployment for industries, buildings power sector and transport, policies and regulations, and innovative financing. In addition to South Asia, Anurag worked on programs in Thailand, Vietnam, and South Africa.

Before joining USAID, Anurag managed the Govt. of UK’s Low Carbon High Growth Program, with DFID, GIZ’s Indo-German Energy Program, and worked ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability, international consulting firms, and government agencies. He holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Planning from the School of Planning, CEPT, Ahmedabad. Anurag received several awards for his work on furthering U.S.-India climate and clean energy partnership, and a Grand Prize, Catalyst- Innovation to Action award.
