Considering the need to develop the capacity of the key stakeholders from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Maldives, and Sri Lanka, USAID India, under the Asia EDGE initiative has launched a capacity building series “South Asia Energy Master Class”. The first program under the series was on “Green Hydrogen” and conducted from 8th – 11th March, 2022 in virtual mode. The masterclass was co-organized by USAID’s South Asia Regional Energy Hub (SAREH) and South Asia Regional Energy Partnership (SAREP), with Skill Council for Green Jobs (SCGJ), India as the training partner. The nine-hours masterclass included sessions on fundamentals of hydrogen, introduction to technology and applications, coupling with renewables, economics, and global standards and policies (program agenda in Annexure 1). Case studies and experience sharing by industries on application of hydrogen for power generation were also presented. The master Class got an overwhelming response from 66 participants (Female –18, and Male – 48) from six SAREP countries and representing 32 organizations from government departments, research and academia, and training institutions.
