SAREP activities aim to reduce the economic cost of RE grid integration, better management of RE by national and state utilities, and improve resilience against climate hazards. SAREP is working with national and state-level stakeholders on techno-economic analysis and business models for deployment of grid-level energy storage.
SAREP is currently assisting the Forum of Regulators in India, on resource adequacy planning and regulations, reserves regulation and ancillary services mechanism, a framework for energy storage, and mechanisms for minimization of renewable curtailment for reasons other than grid security. SAREP’s technical assistance is supporting FOR to develop model regulations on these and related themes. Further, SAREP will work with selected states to adopt the model regulation and support its implementation.
