Mr. Ajay Rawat
Objective Lead, Modernizing Utilities, SAREP
Ajay leads the interventions under SAREP’s objective for modernization of utilities. Ajay’s focus areas under SAREP include: smart-metering- implementation and data analytics, deployment of AI/ML and Blockchain technologies to improve O&M efficiency of utilities, strengthening planning and operations capacity of transmission utilities/LDCs; Developing Centers of Excellence (COEs) on advanced technologies and smart-grid, capacity building of utilities.
Ajay is an Electrical Engineer and Masters in Energy Management. He has a more than 15 years of qualitative experience in consulting, research, and project management. He’s well versed with Technical, Commercial and Regulatory aspects of Power Markets.He started his carrier as an engineer with major utilities including Tata Power DDL and Powergrid, and later shifted into consulting with his major stint with Mercados Energy Markets. At Mercados, Ajay was leading projects on Power Systems Planning and Simulations, Energy Portfolio Optimization, policy and regulatory.
