Knowledge Sharing Platform

Learning from peers in the region is a quick and efficient way for Discoms to improve their performance, rather than having to reinvent the wheel. Regional platforms can also enhance cooperation, mutual learning, and deployment of advanced technologies to improve operational and financial efficiency.

SAREP is pioneering in creating South Asia Distribution Utility Network (referred to as DUN) to facilitate knowledge exchange and peer-to-peer capacity creation among distribution utilities across South Asia, in Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. The objective of this platform is to help power DISCOMs that have similar priorities and are experiencing common challenges, accelerate planning and execution of modernization projects, and leapfrog on technology. DUN activities include taskforces comprising South Asian utility professionals focusing on different priority areas such as smart grids, smart metering, cybersecurity, regional markets, etc.
