Why SACEF?

Home to more than a quarter of the world’s population and as one of the fastest developing regions globally, South Asia faces the twin challenge of meeting its growing energy demand sustainably while also building resilience against its distinct vulnerability towards climate change.

South Asia has unique energy challenges, including high population density, economic diversity, and varying levels of development. How the growing energy demand is met in South Asia will have significant implications for the global transition towards clean energy. Accelerating clean energy deployment in the region will boost industry, markets, and create opportunities leading to increased economic growth and improved living standards.

SACEF Explained
